Fairy Lights
As darkness falls, the fairy lights in my garden completely change the ambience and atmosphere. The darker it becomes, the brighter they shine! A sinister, uninteresting corner is sprinkled with light, interest and intrigue!
This is exactly how we should be living our lives. We may appear ordinary or even unnoticeable at times in everyday scenarios BUT when people around us need hope, when those in our community are wrestling with shadows of fear and pain and hurt, this is when we should come into our own. We can shine our little beams of light and change the atmosphere. We can allow Gods grace and peace to flow through us and bring change.
The Bible declares many times we are to be children of the light and to let our light shine.
Colossians 1:11 states: "And giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light."
We have an incredible inheritance to share the love and light of Christ in a world of darkness. We need to shine like the stars creating a clear contrast against the darkness.
